ROLE: Wealth Protection/Court of Protection Paralegal

LOCATION: Chester

SALARY: DOE

We are seeking a talented paralegal with a passion for Court of Protection and Wealth Protection to join our Wealth Protection team. The successful candidate will report to our Wealth Protection Partner/Head of Court of Protection.

This is a full-time position based at our Chester office. We offer excellent training and career prospects, with the potential for a Training Contract/SQE Contract after 12 months of service, dependent on performance and business need.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Liaise with clients and third parties to take initial instructions
  • Prepare HMRC and Court documentation
  • Assist with client satisfaction and billing
  • Maintain estate accounts and general client budgets with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Document control - maintain accurate records and files on our case management system
  • Be understanding and act in a sensitive and sympathetic manner
  • Paying invoices and processing financial transactions on behalf of clients
  • Record all time on the file and document work undertaken
  • Ensure compliance with file management
  • Promote the business, seeking opportunities to cross-refer opportunities
Key Skills:
  • Legal experience as a Paralegal is advantageous but not essential
  • Demonstrate a passion for Court of Protection and Wealth Protection
  • Estate administration experience
  • A strong academic background
  • Strong IT skills including MS Word and Excel
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Team player, with the ability to be self-motivated and professional
  • Excellent analytical and organisational skills
  • Ability to use own initiative
  • Organised and able to comply with deadlines
