We are seeking a dedicated SEN Class Teacher to join our Special School in Barking. This full-time position offers a temporary to permanent contract, ideal for someone passionate about working with students who have a range of special educational needs, including autism and communication difficulties.

This role is perfect for someone looking to make a real difference in the lives of young learners, with excellent opportunities for professional development and growth. As an SEN Class Teacher, you will work closely with support staff to deliver engaging lessons tailored to the individual needs of your students.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver personalised lessons for students with special educational needs.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and other support staff to create a supportive learning environment.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adapting teaching strategies to meet individual needs.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, helping them build confidence and independence.
  • Liaise with parents, carers, and external professionals to provide holistic support.
  • Contribute to the school's initiatives aimed at improving student well-being and achievement.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience teaching SEND students is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong understanding of SEND teaching methods.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage students, staff, and parents.
  • A relevant teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS).
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
