About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Senior Care Assistant to join our team at Tenterden House Care Home in St Albans. As a Senior Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, person-centred care to our residents, while also inspiring and developing our Care Assistants to be their best every day.
Key Responsibilities
- Day-to-day responsibility for running a unit, ensuring the smooth operation of our care home.
- Supporting with clinical duties, including observing, issuing medication, reviewing care plans, and accurate record keeping.
- Driving and managing a team of Care Assistants, including responsible for all shift handovers.
- Helping with training and supervision of new staff members to ensure they feel welcomed and supported.
- Building relationships with residents, their families, and external teams, such as GPs and District Nurses.
- Assisting residents with a range of personal care duties.
Requirements
- Completed or working towards an NVQ3 in care. We are happy to support you in completing your qualification if needed.
- Motivated, positive, and with great interpersonal skills, enjoying working in a close-knit team.
- Previous experience of the role and knowledge of its rewards and challenges.
- Passion for making a real difference to people's lives, giving them the kindness, personalised support, and dignity they need.
