Housing Officer Opportunity

Sanctuary Scotland Housing Association is seeking a dedicated and skilled Housing Officer to join our team in Glasgow. As a key member of our housing management team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality services to our customers and contributing to the overall success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a patch of general needs, home for older people, and affordable housing properties, ensuring effective rent account management, estate inspections, and anti-social behavior cases are addressed.
  • Liaise with colleagues in Property Services and Lettings to ensure the efficient allocation of void properties.
  • Manage tenant expectations regarding repairs and escalate property maintenance issues affecting tenant welfare through appropriate channels.
  • Manage complaints about service delivery and work with colleagues in other service areas to meet compliance obligations, including fire safety, water hygiene, gas safety, and data protection.
  • Deliver general advice on all aspects of tenancy to enable sustainability and work with external agencies to resolve issues affecting tenant welfare, such as domestic abuse, anti-social behavior, and safeguarding.
  • Work closely with administrative colleagues to complete tenancy management processes, including tenancy conversions, permissions, mutual exchanges, successions, service charges, and enforcement of tenancy breaches.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in a similar role, with a strong track record of delivering high-quality tenancy services.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to implement effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication and customer care skills, with a strong understanding of written and spoken English.
  • Working knowledge of relevant regulations and good practice, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical context.
  • A full valid driving license, as occasional travel may be required for the role.
