Pharmacist Job Description

Ascend Medical Recruitment Limited is seeking a skilled Pharmacist to join our team in the South West Region. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and check medication prescribed to patients, ensuring accuracy and safety.
  • Identify potential interactions between drugs and provide information to patients, promoting informed decision-making.
  • Order and manage stock, maintaining a clean and organized pharmacy environment.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all medication processed through the pharmacy.
  • Offer advice on dosages, side effects, and other aspects of drug interaction, enhancing patient understanding and outcomes.
  • Deliver community healthcare services, including prescription collection and delivery, to improve patient access and convenience.
  • Recruit, hire, and train staff, including Trainee Pharmacists and Pharmacy Assistants, to ensure a skilled and dedicated team.
  • Collaborate with pharmaceutical staff to maintain a clean, customer-friendly workplace, promoting a positive patient experience.
Requirements:
  • Masters degree accredited by the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with patients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and safety in medication preparation and management.
  • High-level customer service knowledge, providing a positive and supportive experience for patients and their families.
  • Computer skills, including the use of specialist software, to efficiently manage pharmacy operations and patient data.
  • Strong numerical and mathematical skills, facilitating accurate calculations and medication management.
  • Diplomacy, discretion, and the ability to manage sensitive situations effectively, promoting a positive and respectful work environment.
  • Good problem-solving ability, enabling you to address complex medication-related issues and provide effective solutions.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, inspiring and motivating staff to deliver high-quality patient care.
