Payroll Officer Job Description

Macildowie Recruitment and Retention is seeking a skilled Payroll Officer to join their team on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring an effective payroll service is provided to all employees.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and update payroll records and employee files to ensure accurate records are kept at all times.
  • Coordinate employee starter and leaver processes.
  • Ensure accurate information is given to the payroll provider for the payment of salaried staff.
  • Prepare and process weekly timesheets for various companies across the estate.
  • Post payroll journals by company to the finance system.
  • Support the purchase ledger clerk with the processing of invoices.
  • Support the Finance Manager with the raising of sales invoices and other work as required.
  • Act as the first point of contact for HR and payroll queries and ad-hoc requests.
  • Chase outstanding debts to ensure prompt payment.
  • Perform other duties as required to fulfill the requirements of the post.
Requirements:
  • Proficient in the use of computers, especially Excel and Word.
  • Excellent computer skills and experience with Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Prior health and safety experience is desirable.
  • Prior purchase ledger, sales ledger, and payroll experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Proactive and able to create a positive experience for others.
