Critical Care Consultant

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Critical Care Consultant to join our team at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust. As a Critical Care Consultant, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, leading a team of healthcare professionals, and contributing to the development of our Critical Care department.
Main Responsibilities- Provide expert critical care to patients, including assessment, diagnosis, and management of complex medical conditions.
- Lead a team of healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, and other support staff, to deliver high-quality patient care.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve patient outcomes and safety.
- Contribute to the development of our Critical Care department, including participating in quality improvement initiatives and educational programs.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes.

Person Specification- Breadth of experience in and outside specialty.
- Experience and ability to work in multi-professional teams.
- Understanding of NHS / Clinical governance / Resource constraints.
- Evidence of managerial skills: Achievements / Course attended.
- Evidence of an interest and commitment to teaching.
- Recognised teaching qualification.
- Evidence of participation in audit.
- Research experience.
- Publications.
- Prizes and honours.
- Appropriate progression of career to date.
- Good communication skills both oral and written.
- Full GMC Registration with a licence to practice.
- CCT in Specialty or equivalent (equivalence must be confirmed by GMC by date of AAC).
- Entry onto the GMC Specialist Register or eligibility for entry within 6 months of the date of the AAC.
- Higher Degree.
- FFICM or DICM or EDICM.
