Job Description

Role Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our team at a Primary School in Knowsley. As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will provide one-on-one and group support to students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to students with SEMH needs, promoting their emotional and social well-being.
  • Assist the classroom teacher in creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  • Develop and implement strategies to support students' SEMH needs, in collaboration with the teaching team.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, staff, and parents, promoting a culture of mutual respect and understanding.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with SEMH needs is highly desirable.
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach, with a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, staff, and parents.
