Overview

Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is a leading provider of healthcare services in East London and beyond. We are currently seeking a skilled Children's Nurse to join our Community Children's Nursing Team.

Salary: £38,890 - £44,503 per annum (Band 6)

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing specialist nursing care to children in the community, working closely with parents and carers to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to care for their child at home. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of paediatrics in the community and be able to communicate complex and sensitive information effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing quality nursing care to children in the community, including those with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions.
  • Working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care transitions between hospital and community settings.
  • Developing and implementing individualised care plans to meet the unique needs of each child.
  • Supporting parents and carers to build their confidence and competence in caring for their child at home.

Person Specification:

  • Registered Child Teaching/mentoring qualification (998 or equivalent).
  • Substantive experience of working with children in the community.
  • Ability to manage a caseload of children with varying health needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
