About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Epilepsy Nurse Specialist to join our team at Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Neurology nursing team, you will provide expert nursing care and support to patients with epilepsy, working closely with healthcare professionals in primary and secondary care, voluntary organisations, and other agencies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct expert nursing care to patients with epilepsy, including assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of care.
  • Lead in the development and implementation of epilepsy care plans, working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Initiate emergency treatment where necessary and coordinate other staff in this process.
  • Develop and deliver education and training programs for patients, carers, and healthcare professionals on epilepsy management and symptom management.
  • Participate in clinical and nursing audits, research, and quality improvement initiatives to improve patient outcomes and services.
