About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Epilepsy Nurse Specialist to join our team at Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Neurology nursing team, you will provide expert nursing care and support to patients with epilepsy, working closely with healthcare professionals in primary and secondary care, voluntary organisations, and other agencies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct expert nursing care to patients with epilepsy, including assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of care.
  • Lead in the development and implementation of epilepsy services, working closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality care.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to educate patients, relatives, and carers about epilepsy management and treatment options.
  • Participate in clinical audits and research to improve epilepsy care and services.
  • Support the development of new clinical guidelines and protocols for epilepsy care.
Requirements
  • Current NMC registration.
  • Teaching and assessing qualification or equivalent.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.
  • Significant relevant experience in acute or community nursing.
  • Knowledge of NICE guidelines in Epilepsy and Epilepsy management and treatment.
  • IT literacy and knowledge of NHS IT systems.
