Join Our Team as a Student Support Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Student Support Specialist. As a Specialist-one-to-one Study Skills Support Worker, you will provide learning support and academic guidance to students with Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLDs) at the University of St.

This hybrid role offers the opportunity to make a real difference in students' academic journeys. You will work closely with students to build on their comprehension skills within reading and writing, and provide support to help them achieve their academic goals.

We are looking for someone who is flexible and able to deliver both in-person and online support sessions. You will need to be able to travel to the university as needed to meet student needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-to-one learning support and academic guidance to students with SpLDs
  • Build on comprehension skills within reading and writing
  • Deliver support sessions in-person and online
  • Travel to the university as needed to meet student needs
Requirements:
  • Flexibility and ability to work in a hybrid role
  • Professional membership with the British Dyslexia Association (BDA), The Association of Dyslexia (ADSHE), or the Dyslexia Guild
  • Ability to identify ways of helping students to build on their learning strengths
  • Confidential and professional working relationship with students
