Job Title: Assistant Design Manager

United Living Group is seeking an experienced Assistant Design Manager to join our New Homes construction business in the Yorkshire region.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and technically skilled individual to assist in the design and technical aspects of our projects. The successful candidate will work closely with our project Design Managers to ensure that projects are delivered on budget and to programme.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and interrogate consultants' and sub-contractors' drawings and documentation.
  • Manage and drive external consultants in the preparation and issue of production information to an agreed programme.
  • Develop, control, and manage project-specific Design Programmes as part of broader Master Delivery Programmes.
  • Coordinate technical information from start to completion of project.
  • Manage and coordinate external consultants in their day-to-day duties related to design, coordination, and technical aspects of production information.
  • Oversee document control with regards to registration and distribution of design and technical information.
  • Liaise with key personnel within the project team in preparation of project costing and design works.
  • Review tenders as part of the bid team to assess the quality of received information, identify value engineering opportunities, risks, collate consultants' cost, and prepare contractors' proposals.
  • Keep up to date on new and innovative products and modern methods of construction.
