Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team at GSL Education. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the learning journey of our students, particularly those with additional needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized or small group support to students, including those with special educational needs (SEN), such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
  • Collaborate with the class teacher to deliver engaging and tailored lessons that cater to the diverse needs of our students.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes social, emotional, and academic growth.
  • Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to teaching staff to inform instruction.
  • Assist in managing classroom behavior and promoting effective learning strategies.
  • Support students with personal care needs, if required.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with primary-aged children in an educational setting.
  • Knowledge or experience of working with children with SEN, particularly ASD, is highly desirable.
  • A caring and patient attitude, with excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and build positive relationships with staff, students, and parents.
  • An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one) is required.
