Maxillofacial Prosthetist/Reconstructive Scientist

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to fill a 6-month contract at a leading University Hospital in Oxfordshire.

The role involves delivering and maintaining high-quality technical services for patients referred by consultants, as well as leading the digitisation of the laboratory.

  • Lead and support the maxillofacial laboratory team, ensuring staff development, motivation, and training needs are met.
  • Oversee all work produced within the laboratory, applying analytical skills to assess suitability and provide options where necessary.
  • Train and mentor junior doctors, departmental staff, and student technologists in Maxillofacial procedures.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in leading teams and managing projects. The estimated salary for this position is £38-£42 per hour, working Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm (37.5-hour contract).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Oversee all aspects of the laboratory's operations.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, develop, and motivate the maxillofacial laboratory team.
  • Digitisation: Drive the process of digitising the laboratory, improving efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Training: Provide expert guidance and training to junior staff members.
