Electrical and Mechanical Technician

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Electrical and Mechanical Technician to join our team at West Midlands Metro. As an Electrical and Mechanical Technician, you will be responsible for undertaking electrical and mechanical maintenance and repair work to our network, ensuring all tasks are performed with the utmost safety and effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensuring inspection and maintenance tasks are completed in a timely manner and in compliance with the planned maintenance schedule
- Ensuring work tasks follow the correct procedures
- Carrying out maintenance and repairs to West Midland Metro Electrical and Mechanical Infrastructure and equipment, including traction power substations
- Oversight of contractors carrying out planned works on Electrical and Mechanical equipment
- Assisting with the testing and commissioning of new systems
- Switching of electrical substations
- Assisting with the development and continued improvement of the Asset Management Information System
Requirements:
- A good working knowledge and competence in electrical systems
- The ability to read and understand electrical schematics
- GCSE Maths, English, and Science at Grade C/4 or above
- Recognised Electrical qualification at Level 3 or above
- A full driving license
