Trainee Surveyor Opportunity

Bloor Homes, a leading UK house builder, is seeking a motivated and ambitious individual to join our team as a Trainee Surveyor. This exciting opportunity will provide you with the chance to develop your skills and knowledge in quantity surveying, while working on a variety of projects across our East Midlands region.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Carrying out site measures and drawing takeoffs in liaison with the Surveyor.
  • Producing labour only rates and maintaining databases in liaison with the Surveyor.
  • Checking SMAS database and updating SWMP Carriers Matrix in liaison with the Surveyor.
  • Assisting the Surveyor with pricing of nonstandard client extras and updating Cost of Sales in the Viability Manager.
  • Producing information for Code for Sustainable Homes and assisting the Surveyor with H & S packs for Housing Association plots.
  • Assisting the Surveyor/Construction Director in updating build completion dates in Eque2.
  • Paying designated invoices and applications in line with Authorisation Levels and Commercial Procedures.
  • Site booking in administration, including liaison with the Site Surveyor and Payroll.
  • Paying designated utility bills and making general material enquiries.
  • Producing a Subcontract / Material Supplier database and updating as necessary.
  • Complying with and upholding company policies and procedures.
Essential Skills and Attributes:
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Educated to A level standard or equivalent.
  • Keen interest in Surveying.
  • Good negotiating skills and excellent time management skills.
  • Computer literate.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Willingness to learn.
