Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Trainee Quantity Surveyor to join our team. As a Trainee Quantity Surveyor, you will assist our experienced Surveyors in managing construction projects, ensuring that they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of tender documents, including bills of quantities and schedules of rates.
  • Conduct site measurements and prepare site reports.
  • Assist in the preparation of cost reports and cash flow forecasts.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Assist in the preparation of contract documents and negotiate with contractors.
  • Monitor and report on project progress, including identifying and mitigating potential risks.
  • Assist in the preparation of project close-out reports and lessons learned.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of construction methods, standards, and best practices.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and trends.

Requirements:

  • Education: A-level standard or equivalent.
  • Qualifications: Achieved or studying for a construction-related qualification with a Quantity Surveying bias.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and negotiation skills, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a construction-related role, preferably in a quantity surveying or project management capacity.
