About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Counsellor to join our team at Family Action, working with young people aged 11-25 years old in Hackney. As a Counsellor, you will provide 1:1 counselling and early intervention mental health support to young people, working closely with our team of dedicated Youth Support Workers and the Hackney Super Youth Hub.

Main Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 counselling and early intervention mental health support to young people aged 11-25 years old

• Collaborate with the Hackney Super Youth Hub and other stakeholders in the London Borough of Hackney

• Have an active interest in working with young people affected by mental health issues and recognise the impact it has on their life

Requirements

• A minimum level 4 professional qualification in Counselling and/or Psychotherapy for working with Children and Young Adults

• Registration/Accreditation (or working towards) with a relevant professional body BACP/NCPS/UKCP

• Experience of counselling/professional work with children and young people who have experienced mental health issues
