Job Summary

The Urology department at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic individual to fill the role of Administration Team Leader. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract covering maternity leave, providing an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced administrator to take on a leadership position.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive and confidential secretarial and administrative support to the Urology Consultant Surgeons, ensuring the efficient operation of the department.
  • Lead the secretarial and clerical team, taking responsibility for the provision of secretarial support and its development, including a specific clinical workload requiring audio-typing.
  • Liaise with the Medway Corporate Applications team to escalate clinic build issues, complete change forms, coordinate clinic changes, and communicate changes to relevant staff.
  • Assist in the induction of new consultants and junior medical staff, coordinating initial induction, requesting IT access, and providing training in DocGen and other systems as required.
  • Participate in the recruitment and selection process for the admin team, liaising with the General Manager and HR on the appointment of staff from vacancy notification to start date.
  • Take responsibility for the induction, training, and ongoing support of new team members.
  • Monitor and maintain records of sickness and annual leave for staff within the admin team.
