Advanced Maintenance Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join our Engineering Team at our Wednesbury site in the West Midlands. As a key member of our production team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our factory and contributing to our mission to supply high-quality products to major supermarkets and restaurants across the UK.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will have advanced skills in mechanical and electrical engineering, with a strong focus on maintenance and problem-solving. You will work closely with our operations team to minimize plant downtime, optimize machinery output, and maintain a safe and healthy working environment.
Key Responsibilities- Optimize machinery performance and product quality through effective maintenance planning and execution.
- Respond promptly to breakdowns, identifying root causes and suggesting improvements to prevent future occurrences.
- Communicate effectively with the Engineering Section Manager and operations department to minimize plant disruption.
- Maintain good engineering standards, hygiene practices, and adherence to company and legislative health and safety guidelines.
- Timely reporting of any health and safety, animal welfare, or environmental issues.
To succeed in this role, you will require:
- Advanced Apprenticeship in Engineering.
- Level 3 NVQ in electrical or mechanical engineering (or military equivalents).
- At least 4 years of engineering experience, preferably in food manufacture or similar environments.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, ability to work independently or as part of a team, and strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Familiarity with process machinery and fault-finding capabilities.
The successful candidate will enjoy a competitive salary of £37,902.15 per annum, plus a shift allowance of £5,006.56 per annum. Additionally, you will receive 31 days' holiday allowance, 5% pension contributions, life assurance, and access to wellbeing resources.
