York, York City, United Kingdom Digital Preservation Coalition Full time
Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team at the University of York, jointly between the Departments of Archaeology and Physics.

The successful candidate will contribute to a PhD project funded by the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA) to evaluate nuclear heritage and develop new approaches to industrial landscapes.

The researcher will explore various ways that heritage values can be applied to the nuclear industry, translate this knowledge into NDA policy, and develop key skills required to help NDA carry out its mission over the coming decades.

The project will involve site visits, archival research, and knowledge transfer between academic and industrial communities working on nuclear decommissioning.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in archaeology, physics, or a related field, with excellent research skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

We offer a competitive salary of £35,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on experience, and a comprehensive benefits package.
