About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Lead Clinical Psychologist to join our team in Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the clinical direction of our Community Learning Disability Teams, providing specialist psychological assessment and intervention to individuals with complex needs.

Job Description

The successful candidate will have a strong background in clinical psychology, with experience of working with individuals with challenging behaviors and complex mental health needs. They will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of psychological interventions, as well as providing training and supervision to other members of the team.

The role will also involve contributing to the development of policies and procedures, and participating in service evaluations and research projects. The ideal candidate will be able to work autonomously, as well as part of a team, and will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist psychological assessment and intervention to individuals with complex needs
  • Develop and implement psychological interventions, including individual and group therapy
  • Provide training and supervision to other members of the team
  • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures
  • Participate in service evaluations and research projects
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will need to have:

  • A doctoral level qualification in clinical psychology
  • Registration with the Health Professions Council (HCPC)
  • Experience of working with individuals with challenging behaviors and complex mental health needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work autonomously, as well as part of a team
Salary and Benefits

The salary for this role is £80,000 - £110,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a range of benefits, including pension scheme, life insurance, and 25 days annual leave.

Working Arrangements

This is a full-time position, with a regular working week of 37 hours. You will be expected to work flexibly, including occasional evenings and weekends, to meet the needs of the service.
