About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Mechanical Trades Assistant at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Estates department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities and providing exceptional support to our patients and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively with the Estates team to maintain and repair mechanical systems, including heating, plumbing, and public health services.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of maintenance plans, ensuring compliance with Trust policies and procedures.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to colleagues, including maintenance assistants and contractors.
  • Liaise with the Estates Helpdesk to respond to emergency works and service complaints.
  • Act as a point of contact for technical queries and provide expert advice on mechanical systems.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Recognised and registered EITB, City & Guilds, modern apprenticeship, NVQ level 1 or approved equivalent training in Mechanical Engineering related discipline.
  • NC/HNC/HND in Mechanical/Building Services Engineering or equivalent knowledge and experience.
  • Knowledge of maintenance methodologies and multi-skilled in Mechanical Trades.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise professional judgement, with a high degree of organisational skills and attention to detail.
