About the Role

Peterhouse, the oldest College in Cambridge, is seeking a highly skilled and empathetic individual to fill the position of Welfare Officer. As a key member of the College community, you will provide pastoral support to students, staff, and senior members, fostering a vibrant and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide confidential support and guidance to students, staff, and senior members, addressing non-medical welfare-related concerns.
  • Coordinate and oversee non-medical welfare-related activities, ensuring seamless integration with College resources.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with College staff, senior members, and external partners to enhance student wellbeing.
  • Collaborate with the College Nurse and Mental Health Adviser to provide comprehensive support to students.
  • Contribute to the development of College policies and procedures related to student wellbeing.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • High emotional intelligence and empathy to build trust and rapport with students and colleagues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven experience in pastoral support or a related field, with a strong understanding of student wellbeing.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle complex pastoral situations.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to respond to changing College needs.
