Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Backend Software Engineer to join our team at Source Control. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable, fault-tolerant, and highly available distributed backend systems.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Design and Develop Distributed Systems: Lead the development of cutting-edge distributed software systems, leveraging JVM languages such as Java and Kotlin, to fuel explosive growth and reach millions of current and new users.
  2. Architect Scalable Services: Champion best practices, code quality, and test coverage, igniting dynamic technical discussions, and architecting scalable services using JVM languages.
  3. Improve System Performance: Supercharge existing systems for performance and scalability, while architecting reusable, modular code, and implementing best security practices to ensure the safety of user and company data.
  4. Collaborate with the Team: Work closely with the dedicated engineering team to ship and iterate on products that directly impact the lives of millions, and champion best practices, code quality, and test coverage.

Requirements

  1. Experience in JVM-based Languages: Minimum 2 years of experience in JVM-based languages (e.g., Java, Kotlin), with a knack for crafting and deploying microservices.
  2. Deep Understanding of Distributed Systems: Good experience in building and deploying fault-tolerant, highly-available distributed backend systems, and a deep understanding of data structures, databases, and large-scale distributed systems.
  3. Passion for Crypto and Blockchain Technology: Passion for crypto, blockchain technology, and trading technology, and its transformative potential, and preferably, exposure to technologies like Kafka, PostgreSQL, Redis, RabbitMQ, and more.
  4. Strong Technical Skills: Strong technical skills in Java, Kotlin, PostgreSQL, Kafka, Redis, Datadog, Amplitude, Grafana, BigQuery, ApacheSpark, and an ever-expanding tech stack.
