Job Title: Senior Backend Software Engineer

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Backend Software Engineer to join our team at Opus Recruitment Solutions. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for designing, building, and deploying scalable and efficient backend systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop high-quality backend APIs using Python and AWS services
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements
  • Develop and maintain ETL pipelines using Python and AWS services
  • Design and implement authentication and authorization mechanisms for clients and partners
  • Work closely with the development team to influence system architecture and feature design
  • Design, test, and deploy new features in a continuous and iterative manner
  • Work autonomously on projects from start to finish, and be responsible for the code you write

Requirements:

  • Several years of experience as a backend engineer
  • Experience with AWS: ECS, Lambda, API Gateway, SNS/SQS
  • Strong testing practices, especially Test Driven Development
  • Experience with Enterprise Integration Patterns
  • An end-to-end systems-mindset; we are building a product that should grow itself and require minimal intervention from our team
  • Experience working in a close-knit, collaborative, rapidly growing team
  • The ability to work in a highly agile environment, using CI/CD practices
  • A passion for creating products that are user-friendly and contribute to our product-led growth strategy
  • A knack for identifying good UX
  • Fluency in English, with excellent written and verbal communication
  • Nice to have: Experience with Event Driven Architecture and System architecture
