Forensic Interview Specialist

Bryn Mawr College is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Forensic Interviewer to join our team. As a Forensic Interviewer, you will play a critical role in conducting non-leading, child-friendly interviews of children affected by sexual and physical abuse.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct thorough and sensitive interviews with children and adults with disabilities who have potentially been victimized or witnessed a crime or violence.
- Follow the National Child Advocacy Center's (NCAC) protocol for interviewing children who are suspected victims of child abuse (sexual or physical) and witnesses of abuse or violence.
- Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team, including law enforcement personnel, case workers, prosecutors, medical and mental health professionals, to ensure a comprehensive approach to investigating child abuse cases.
- Participate in peer review meetings and national journal clubs to stay up-to-date on the latest research and best practices in forensic interviewing and child advocacy.
- Develop and deliver training programs on mandated reporting, child abuse, and child advocacy for multidisciplinary team members and community stakeholders.
- Provide orientation and support to new team members on the team approach to investigating child abuse cases.
- Bachelor's Degree plus 5 years' experience in a field related to child abuse investigation or a related field.
- Experience working with victims of child abuse, physical abuse, and family violence.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to travel to attend training and professional meetings.
- Valid driver's license or ability to travel to various locations.
The Forensic Interviewer will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, interacting with colleagues, multidisciplinary team members, clients, and community stakeholders. The position requires strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
