About the Role

Central Bedfordshire Council is seeking a dedicated and passionate Personal Advisor to join our Children's Services, Leaving Care Team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting young people aged 18-25 who are care experienced.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a varied caseload of young people, providing support with housing, education, employment, and health and wellbeing services.
  • Develop and implement personalized support plans to help young people achieve their goals and improve their life outcomes.
  • Work closely with partner organizations to ensure seamless support and services for young people.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of young people's progress and support plans.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Personal Advisor or in a related field, supporting care experienced young people.
  • Basic understanding of the legislative framework that underpins this role.
  • Strong advocacy skills and ability to negotiate and resolve conflicts with young people and partner organizations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with a variety of stakeholders.
