SEND Funding and Specialist Places Client Lead

A challenging opportunity has arisen for a seasoned professional to lead the development of SEND funding and specialist places in schools and multi-academy trusts.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Oversee and improve SEND funding processes to ensure efficient and effective allocation of resources.
  2. Collaborate with schools and MATs to create new SEND placements, streamlining funding processes and improving financial governance.
  3. Negotiate and manage funding agreements and delivery timelines to meet quality and regulatory standards.
  4. Identify and address weaknesses in financial management systems to ensure SEND placements meet quality and regulatory standards.
  5. Build and maintain strong relationships with schools, parents, and internal teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  6. Lead projects to deliver non-capital aspects of school place planning, driving innovation and improvement.
Requirements:
  1. Proven experience in leading SEND funding changes and financial system improvements.
  2. Strong knowledge of SEND statutory responsibilities and school place planning.
  3. Expertise in negotiating and delivering SEND school places with schools/MATs.
  4. Senior leadership experience in a local authority or similar setting.
  5. Skilled in managing complex educational capital programmes.
  6. Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  7. Strong relationship-building abilities across diverse stakeholders.
