Job Description

Citi's Tax Department is seeking a highly skilled Commercial Vice President to join our team. As a key member of our Tax Team, you will play a critical role in providing technical tax support to our UK, Europe, and MEA businesses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide VAT advice and support to our commodities business, including global commodity transactions and technology implementation.
  • Assist with managing tax risk and processes to ensure compliance with Citi's high standards.
  • Work closely with colleagues overseas to ensure effective management of indirect tax issues.
  • Support the Head of VAT, UK, Europe, and MEA in providing ad hoc VAT advice to all Citi businesses.
  • Apply commercial judgment and technical proficiency to provide expert VAT advice.
Requirements
  • Deep understanding and knowledge of VAT and financial services.
  • Experience of VAT processes and risks.
  • Commercial judgment and technical proficiency.
  • Experience in general VAT and tax accounting.
  • Worked in a multi-jurisdictional environment and gained knowledge of one or more tax systems.
  • Experience of partial exemption special methods and financial services VAT.
