Job Summary

As a Delivery Specialist at Cencora, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient and accurate delivery of products to our customers. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team and contribute to the company's mission of creating healthier futures.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and competent standard of driving, adhering to speed limits and traffic signs, and giving due regard to other road users.

• Conduct daily vehicle checks to ensure roadworthiness, including lights, brakes, coolant, and other essential systems.

• Report any faults, breakdowns, accidents, or delays promptly.

• Maintain the internal and external condition of the vehicle, as well as its cleanliness.

• Ensure sufficient fuel is taken for the day's work.

• Secure the vehicle and its contents at all times.

• Verify all orders on drop sheets and ensure all orders are loaded on the vehicle.

• Collect goods returned for credit, mail, delivery bins, and their safe return to the branch as instructed by management.

• Address damages/breakages promptly and correctly, with due regard to special procedures for hazardous materials.

• Maintain a smart appearance at all times.

• Foster good customer relations.

• Participate in other duties, including warehouse tasks as defined by management.

• Meet all Health & Safety requirements.

Requirements

• A full driving license relevant to the vehicle being driven must be held.

• For insurance purposes, all drivers must be over 21 years of age.

• While a clean license is not required, the risk of employing applicants with points on their license may affect the decision to shortlist.

• Existing employees must update fleet services accordingly with any changes to their license status, such as points or driving bans.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.

• Excellent customer care is essential.

• Intermediate numeracy and literacy are necessary.

• Previous experience of multidrop delivery driving is highly desirable.

• Route planning experience is beneficial.

Working Relationships

• Constant interaction with external customers is expected.

• Regular liaison with other drivers and members of the transport team is necessary.

Decision Making

• The ability to act on own initiative and work unsupervised is required.

• Monitoring the condition of the vehicle and reporting damages or faults is necessary.

• In the event of serious faults or damages, the driver may make the decision that the vehicle is not roadworthy.

Manual Handling

Manual handling tasks, such as lifting and bending, are essential requirements of this role.
