Senior Occupational Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Occupational Therapist to join our Community Therapy Services team at East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust. As a key member of our Integrated Therapy Team, you will be responsible for providing specialist therapy services to patients on the community rehab wards at Burnley General Hospital.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive therapy assessments and develop treatment plans to maximize independence and recovery for patients with complex and disabling conditions.
- Provide specialist therapy advice and interventions to patients, carers, and other healthcare professionals to promote optimal levels of functioning.
- Manage a varied and complex caseload, prioritizing clinical needs and delegating tasks to junior staff as appropriate.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to facilitate hospital discharge and inform development of discharge planning.
- Develop and maintain specialist clinical skills, staying up-to-date with current legislation and best practices in occupational therapy.
- Contribute to clinical education and training of junior staff and students, promoting a culture of lifelong learning and professional development.
- Profession-specific diploma/degree in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy.
- Health Professions Council Registration.
- Postgraduate training in relevant clinical areas and extensive experience in community and rehab settings.
- Experience of delivering training to colleagues and working in integrated therapy or multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
