Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our Community Therapy Services team at East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality rehabilitation services to patients in our community hospital wards.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have extensive postgraduate therapy experience, including community and rehabilitation settings. You will be responsible for managing a varied and complex caseload, providing specialist therapy advice, and working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Conduct comprehensive therapy assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for patients with complex needs.
  2. Provide specialist therapy advice and interventions to patients, carers, and other healthcare professionals.
  3. Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes and facilitate hospital discharge.
  4. Develop and maintain specialist clinical skills, including advanced clinical reasoning and appraisal skills.
  5. Supervise and support junior staff and students, contributing to their clinical education and development.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Profession-specific diploma/degree in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy.
  • Health Professions Council Registration.
  • Extensive postgraduate therapy experience, including community and rehabilitation settings.
  • Postgraduate training in relevant clinical areas.
  • Experience of delivering training to colleagues and students.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, with excellent problem-solving skills and flexibility.
