Job Summary

As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality rehabilitation services to patients in our community hospital wards.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of a dynamic and integrated therapy team, providing assessment, treatment, and discharge planning for patients with a range of complex needs. You will be responsible for managing a caseload of patients, working autonomously and demonstrating evidence-based clinical decision making.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Conduct comprehensive therapy assessments and develop individualized treatment plans to maximize patient independence and recovery.
  2. Provide specialist therapy advice and interventions to patients, carers, and other professionals, promoting self-management and empowerment.
  3. Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to facilitate hospital discharge and inform development of discharge planning.
  4. Develop and maintain specialist clinical skills, staying up-to-date with current legislation, research, and best practices.
  5. Supervise and support junior staff and students, promoting their professional development and contributing to the growth of the therapy team.
Person Specification

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Occupational Therapist with:

  • Profession-specific diploma/degree in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy.
  • Health Professions Council Registration.
  • Experience of delivering training to colleagues in health and/or other agencies.
  • Experience of working in an integrated therapy or multi-professional MDT.
  • Ability to work autonomously, manage risk, and demonstrate advanced clinical reasoning.
