Job Overview
York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our Facilities Management Team as a Cleaning and Catering Operative. Main Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the hospital, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for patients, staff, and visitors. Key duties will include:
- Ensuring that designated areas are cleaned and maintained in accordance with established protocols and schedules.
- Providing a catering service on the wards, including meal preparation, plating, and distribution.
- Assisting with the distribution of meals and refreshments to patients and staff.
- Operating cleaning machinery and equipment, including industrial-standard equipment.
- Undertaking specialist cleaning tasks as required, under the guidance of the Facilities Supervisor and/or Nurse in Charge.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team. You will also require a basic understanding of cleaning procedures, COSSH protocols, infection prevention and control measures, and food hygiene practices. Relevant training and qualifications will be provided.
