Malton, North Yorkshire, United Kingdom YorMed Ambulance Service Full time

Job Overview

YorMed Ambulance Service is in search of Event Medical Personnel across various skill levels to enhance our esteemed team providing medical support at events throughout the region.

Engaging in event medical services offers a unique opportunity to work in diverse environments. The needs of event organizers can differ significantly; you may find yourself working independently as a first responder or collaborating within a team in a temporary medical facility catering to large crowds.

Key Responsibilities

As part of our dedicated team across the region, you will support a wide range of events. We are particularly interested in candidates with extensive experience in the field, but we also welcome those who are new to the industry. Training programs are available, with opportunities for professional growth that are subsidized by the company.

The advantage of being part of a multi-disciplinary team is the wealth of knowledge available for learning, especially for newcomers who will have the chance to gain insights from seasoned professionals.

You will be an integral member of the event medical team, tasked with delivering exceptional medical care to our clients and service users.

Onboarding is mandatory; therefore, you must provide two forms of identification, proof of right to work, an Enhanced DBS Certificate, all relevant certifications, and professional registrations (if applicable).

About Us

YorMed Ambulance Service is committed to providing comprehensive medical coverage for events and festivals, as well as international air and ground ambulance repatriation services.

Our team consists of highly skilled and experienced professionals dedicated to maintaining a patient-centered approach with high standards of service and care. We are always ready to offer our services and provide guidance on all aspects of our operations.

Job Duties

  • Performing all duties independently and in challenging environments, often being the sole medical provider at designated aid stations.
  • Responding to both emergency and non-emergency medical requests with composure and efficiency.
  • Administering basic life support to patients on-site, in accordance with their clinical scope of practice.
  • Evaluating the nature and severity of injuries or illnesses to prioritize medical interventions.
  • Maintaining order at event scenes, including managing crowd control and assisting families and friends.
  • Completing patient care documentation, insurance forms, and evaluations accurately and promptly.
  • Conducting pre-event inventory checks of medical equipment.
  • Ensuring cleanliness, organization, and restocking of supplies after each use.
  • Responding to requests for medical assistance at events and supporting event staff with general tasks.
  • Keeping precise records of all first aid and medical care interactions, adhering to company policies.
  • Communicating effectively via radio while maintaining confidentiality at all times.
  • Collaborating with various agencies, including event staff, volunteers, security teams, ambulance services, and event attendees.
  • Upholding patient privacy in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Reporting any concerns regarding patient privacy policies without fear of retaliation.
  • Participating in company privacy training and disseminating policy information to colleagues and others.
  • Demonstrating teamwork and providing necessary support to uphold infection prevention and control measures.
  • Being adaptable to varying shift schedules and start times as required by the nature of the business.
