Earnings with Sleeps: £30,025 - £33,650 based on 10 sleep ins per month
Hours: 40.5 per week
Shift Times: Shifts start at 10am finishing at 11pm followed by a sleep in at the home after every shift

We are seeking a Residential Support Worker to join our team at our children's home in Rossendale. This is a great opportunity to work with a highly established and successful children's home, learning from experienced and skilled team members who share a passion for giving children in care the best support.

No two days will be the same as you support young people to achieve their best. You will have a varied array of tasks while on shift, including cooking and cleaning, participating in activities and games, taking young people to appointments and meetings, managing challenging behaviors, and sitting and watching TV with the young people.

We aim to create a positive and relaxed home environment where young people feel safe, supported, and listened to. You will be inducted by our industry-leading learning and development team and guided in your role by more senior staff members, including psychologists and therapy team members to establish appropriate boundaries, manage behaviors effectively, and nurture young people in your care towards positive futures.

Experience working in a residential home for children is advantageous, but not essential. Please note that this role requires shift work and sleep ins at the home at the end of a shift before handing over to another staff team the following day. The rolling rota covers evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and public holidays shared amongst the staff team.

As a Residential Support Worker, you will have the following:

  • The desire and passion to safeguard, motivate, and inspire young people in your care
  • Lead, demonstrate, and share best practice with other practitioners in your home, working closely with psychologists and our specialist therapeutic services team
  • The characteristics and personality to handle challenging behavior effectively and professionally
  • Shift work, including weekends, evenings, and sleep in duties
  • A full driving license is essential
