About This Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior/Principal Marine Water Quality Modeller to join our team at Stantec Consulting International Ltd. in the UK.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on challenging projects across the water cycle, developing effective and sustainable wastewater solutions driven by environmental needs.

You will be part of an integrated team that works with water companies across the UK and Ireland, supporting clients from the water sector, primarily, but also the energy and infrastructure sectors.

The role encompasses scoping, data collection, development, execution, and presentation of multi-dimensional environmental water quality models using software such as MIKE, Delft3D, OpenFOAM, ADCIRC, and Telemac.

You will have the opportunity to improve our environments and communities by applying your expertise and skills in this critical field.

Responsibilities
  • Scoping and planning of water quality modelling projects
  • Data collection, analysis, and interpretation
  • Development and execution of numerical models
  • Presentation of results to clients and stakeholders
Requirements
  • A degree in physics, mathematics, or engineering
  • Ideal experience in consultancy and/or the water industry, with chartered membership in a relevant professional institution
  • A good understanding of numerical modelling equations and discretisation, 2D mesh generation
  • Experience using numerical modelling software, with proven applications in relevant fields
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience liaising with a broad range of stakeholders
