We are seeking an experienced Management Accountant to join our client, a leading charity in Gateshead, on a full-time basis. This permanent role offers a fantastic opportunity to make a positive impact while playing a crucial role in managing the organisation's financial resources.

About the Role

As a Management Accountant, you will work closely with the Head of Finance, taking on a key supervisory role within the finance team. You will support department managers and use your experience and initiative to make key decisions under the direction of the Head of Finance and CFO.

This position offers great exposure to the full functions of finance, along with some supervisory and reporting responsibilities in payroll.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the full management accounts for the charity
  • Income requests, invoicing, and debtor reviews
  • Complete monthly management accounts for the charity and its trading subsidiary
  • Assist or complete quarterly VAT returns
  • Manage bank reconciliations and other bank/cash/credit card accounts
  • Perform additional financial tasks as required
Requirements
  • Proficiency in accounting processes, with experience in management accounts reporting, project cost reporting, and analysis
  • CIMA, ACCA, ACA, CIPFA, AAT Level 4 are desirable, however not essential
  • Ideally, experience with Xero accounting software
  • Strong skills in Office 365 tools, including Excel, Word, Teams, and SharePoint
  • Excellent communication and analytical abilities, with a team-oriented work ethic
