Join Our Team as a Management Accountant

Catalyst is a successful HealthTech scale-up, an SME currently at £6m turnover and c.70 staff, looking to double in size in the next five years under the leadership of a strong new CEO, recruited recently by its highly charismatic and driven owner. We are looking to strengthen our Finance department, led by a well-established and experienced CFO, by appointing to a newly created Management Accountant position.

Main Responsibilities
  • Produce management accounts, variance analysis, and commentaries to support business decision-making.
  • Provide regular and ad-hoc management reporting and analysis to inform business strategy.
  • Analyse financial information to assist business profitability and growth, working closely with the finance business partners to understand spend and identify business risks and opportunities.
  • Support and guide business stakeholders, including leadership, Commercial, HR, and Marketing, on accounting matters.
  • Plan and prepare budgets and forecasts to ensure business growth.
  • Own, monitor, and address balance sheet reconciliations, identifying risks and opportunities.
  • Respond to audit requests during the year-end process.
  • Continuously review work practices to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations, suggesting improvements where possible.
  • Ensure an appropriate internal control framework is in place to safeguard the business and ensure compliance with financial standards and regulations.
Requirements
  • Strong experience in a similar role, such as Management Accountant, Finance Business Partner, Assistant Management Accountant, or Finance Manager, preferably in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, small to medium-sized business. Tech and/or health experience/knowledge beneficial.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent organisational, interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills.
  • ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualification (or equivalent) advantageous.
  • Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
