Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Early Years Educator to join our team at Bright Horizons. As an Early Years Educator, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional care and education to children while undertaking a formal qualification in childcare.

Key Responsibilities
  • Child Development and Education: Support the development of children in partnership with parents, contributing to observations and planning for next steps.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the nursery team to build strong partnerships with parents/carers and other professionals.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, Bright Horizons policies, and procedures to maintain the strength and reputation of the Bright Horizons brand.
  • Responsibilities:
    • Support and promote diversity and equality.
    • Ensure consistency through teamwork and sharing ideas.
    • Demonstrate the HEART principles in everyday working life.
    • Take responsibility for getting things done using initiative and resilience.
    • Work collaboratively and demonstrate appropriate behavior and expectations.
    • Work in partnership with parents/carers and other professionals.
    • Create a unique experience for parents and children.
    • Demonstrate and ensure good practice and compliance with the revised EYFS Framework.
    • Understand the importance of keeping everyone safe.
    • Practice positive behavior management techniques.
    • Meet individual dietary, health, comfort, and care needs of each child.
    • Have a child-centered approach, ensuring activities meet children's needs and are age-appropriate.
    • Contribute to children's records through observation.
    • Attend staff meetings and training sessions.
    • Work alongside your assessor, including attending all required training for completion of the formal qualification.
    • Manage your time to complete required coursework within the given timeframe.
    • Drive your development through active participation in appraisals, one-to-ones, and requesting supervisions where required.
    • Promote the nursery to current parents and potential customers, taking a bold approach to stand out amongst competitors.
    • Complete your Level 2 Qualification within a minimum of 12 months and your Level 3 within a minimum of 18 months.
    • Use reflection to proactively take on board new ideas and initiatives, including feedback to enhance your development.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Experience in any role involving face-to-face work with children, paid or voluntary.
  • Experience working with babies in a professional home base or early years provision.
Essential Qualifications
  • Willingness to undertake a formal Level 2/3 Early Years qualification.
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Willingness to gain Functional Skills in Maths and English Level 1/2.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Full and relevant Level 1 (or above) Early Years qualification.
  • A-C grade in Maths and English.
  • First Aid or 12 hour Paediatric First Aid qualification.

  • Demonstrate a good standard of literacy, numeracy, and effective ICT skills.
