About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team at Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust. As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality medical care to patients on our adult inpatient ward, Galleywood. Main Responsibilities

  • Provide consultant-level input and take on responsibilities as a Responsible Clinician for inpatients on Galleywood ward.
  • Ensure the highest standards of mental health assessments and evidence-based treatments are provided to all patients referred to the service, in line with Trust policies.
  • Establish a reliable and accessible work schedule with the team and be available during working hours.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues in community and inpatient settings to ensure timely care and transfer of patients as necessary.
  • Ensure accurate and timely administration and documentation in relation to duties of the post, including recording clinical activities in the Trust's electronic patient record system.
  • Liaise with primary care services as appropriate about patients' physical health, mental health, and social care needs.
  • Help coordinate further support and/or management between different services as patients' needs may dictate.

About You

We are looking for a Consultant Psychiatrist who is passionate about delivering high-quality care and has excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will be a registered member of the General Medical Council and hold an appropriate CCT or equivalent, or be within six months of obtaining your CCT on the date of the AAC.
