**Job Title:** Medical Support Professional
**Job Overview:**The Brigham and Women's Hospital is seeking a skilled Medical Support Professional to join its team. As a key member of the neurosurgery department, you will play a crucial role in supporting healthcare teams by assisting with both clinical and non-clinical patient services under the direction of healthcare providers.
**Key Responsibilities:- Conduct thorough interviews with patients to obtain medical information and measure vital signs, weight, and height.
- Escort patients to examination rooms and prepare necessary equipment for healthcare providers.
- Accurately record patients' medical history, vital statistics, or test results in medical records.
- Perform general office duties, such as answering telephones, taking dictation, or completing insurance forms.
- Collect blood, tissue, or other laboratory specimens, log them, and prepare them for testing.
- Maintain treatment rooms in a clean and organized state, ensuring supplies are stocked.
- Comply with all policies, standards, local, state, and federal privacy and confidentiality rules and regulations.
- Demonstrate ability to take manual blood pressures, collect blood samples, and other specimens.
- Possess comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and protocols.
- Show proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical office software.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
- BASIC LIFE SUPPORT [BLS] Certificate Preferred.
- Certified Medical Assistant Preferred.
- EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIAN - BASIC CERTIFICATION [MASSACHUSETTS] Preferred.
