Director of Pastoral Care

More House School, a small, creative-thinking Catholic school for girls aged 11-18, is seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to join our team as Director of Pastoral Care. Our mission is to nurture our pupils to become ethical leaders of tomorrow.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL): Ensure the safety and protection of students through effective safeguarding practices.
  • Lead and Manage Student Support Teams: Address individual needs and provide support to students, staff, and parents.
  • Lead Form Tutors: Provide training, coaching, and guidance to Form Tutors in their pastoral roles.
  • E-Safety Specialist: Ensure compliance with e-safety guidance through staff, student, and parent training.
  • Plan the Assembly and Duty Rota: Organize and manage the assembly and duty rota to ensure effective pastoral care.
  • Provide Training and Development Opportunities: Offer training and development opportunities for all staff in pastoral care.
  • Ensure Effective Reporting Procedures: Establish and maintain effective reporting procedures and communication for pastoral care data.
  • Build Strong Relationships: Foster strong relationships with parents and communicate effectively through regular digital publications.
  • Contribute to Strategic Planning: Contribute to the school's strategic planning and decision-making via termly reports to SLT and Governing body.

Requirements:

  • Proven Experience: Proven experience of working as a Middle Leader or part of a Senior Management Team.
  • Strong Commitment: Show a strong commitment to the pastoral well-being of pupils and staff.
  • Excellent Communication: Be an excellent communicator with the ability to hold difficult conversations with pupils, parents, and staff.
