About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our team as the Lead Chaplain / Head of Pastoral & Spiritual Care. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside our team of volunteers and provide generic pastoral and spiritual support to patients, carers, and staff at the Hillingdon and Mount Vernon Hospitals.

Main Responsibilities
  • Recruit, train, and support pastoral support volunteers
  • Provide generic pastoral and spiritual support across the diversity of religious faiths and non-religious world views
  • Manage and supervise a team of chaplains and volunteers
  • Develop and implement effective budget and people management strategies

Requirements
  • Relevant professional qualification and experience of providing pastoral and spiritual support
  • Management or supervisory experience within a volunteering context
  • Knowledge and understanding of the principles of volunteer management
  • A car driver with access to a car
Desirable
  • Qualification at diploma level in spirituality, religious studies, or theology
  • Management or leadership qualification (or equivalent experience)
  • Working knowledge of the beliefs and practices of some of the major world faiths and beliefs represented in the local community
