Clinical Specialist Midwife Continuity of Care Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Specialist Midwife to join our Continuity of Care team at United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust. As a Clinical Specialist Midwife, you will play a key role in providing high-quality care to our patients and their families.
Job SummaryThe successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years' experience as a Registered Midwife and a degree or diploma in Midwifery. You will be responsible for providing care to a defined caseload of patients within a team continuity model, as described by Better Births (2016). You will work in the capacity of a clinical specialist in a Continuity of Care team, for a caseload high in safeguarding and deprivation.
Main Responsibilities- Provide care to a defined caseload of patients within a team continuity model
- Work in the capacity of a clinical specialist in a Continuity of Care team
- Cover an on-call rota and provide intrapartum support for patients booked for care with your named team
- Participate in clinical audit and/or standard setting
- Evidence of Professional Development
- Liaise with other agencies
- Knowledge of Child Protection processes
- Experience of caring for families where there are safeguarding concerns
- Knowledge of Domestic Abuse processes
- Ability to present information to a professional audience
- Ability to convey sensitive information in an empathetic manner to staff, patients/clients
- Ability to provide emotional support- caring for women and staff in difficult circumstances
- Act as an advocate for unborn/baby/child/mother where required
- Lead and undertake clinical audits
- Experience of autonomous working in relation to safeguarding and handling individual cases
- Demonstrate knowledge of key documents and legislation of local and national level related to safeguarding processes
- Multi-agency working- attendance and contribution to multi-agency meetings, e.g., Case conference
- Knowledge of domestic abuse and the MARAC process
- Able to demonstrate skills/awareness in multidisciplinary work
- Hold a valid driving licence and have access to own car
- Able to use standard computer systems
You must have appropriate UK professional registration. This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
