Job Description

The Building Facilities Technician will provide support and assistance to the existing facilities management team in matters relating to day-to-day maintenance, repairs, and servicing of the laboratory and building environment within the Department. This will include ensuring that the building and equipment across the Chemistry estate are professionally maintained and serviced in a timely and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • To assist in the planning and coordination of maintenance activities
  • To carry out routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning, minor repairs, and preventative maintenance
  • To respond to breakdowns and emergencies, prioritizing urgent tasks to minimize disruption
  • To work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve shared goals and objectives
Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 1 year's experience in a similar role or industry
  • Relevant qualifications, such as a Level 3 NVQ in Maintenance Operations or equivalent
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing priorities
