Bay View Childcare is a leading provider of residential childcare services, dedicated to providing a safe, secure and nurturing environment for young people with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties.


We are currently seeking an experienced and compassionate Childcare Support Specialist to join our team at Bay View Childcare in Heysham. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care and support to our residents, ensuring their physical, emotional and educational needs are met.


The successful candidate will have a strong background in childcare, with experience working with children with complex needs. You will be required to work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans, which focus on promoting the child's independence, self-esteem and overall well-being.

About the Role:



  • Providing 1:1 support to residents, engaging them in activities and promoting their participation in daily life
  • Assisting with daily living tasks, such as personal care, meal preparation and household chores
  • Developing and implementing individualized care plans, in collaboration with our multidisciplinary team
  • Maintaining accurate records and reports, including incident reports and care plan reviews
  • Contributing to the development of new programs and initiatives, which promote the well-being and resilience of our residents
  • Working closely with our family and friends, to ensure that they are fully involved in the resident's care and support

Requirements:



  • Diploma Level in Working with Children & Young People or equivalent qualification
  • Experience working with children with complex needs, preferably in a residential setting
  • Ability to communicate effectively with children, families and colleagues
  • Strong problem-solving and crisis management skills
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional care and support, with a focus on promoting the child's independence and well-being
  • DBS clearance (Enhanced level)
  • Full UK driving license
