Climate Venture Creation Opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our team as a Founder in Residence, focusing on climate-related ventures. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for creating and developing high-impact ventures that address the global toxicity challenge.
About the Opportunity
The intersection of human health and toxic chemical exposure has become a critical area of concern. Toxic chemicals, prevalent in consumer products, industrial waste, and agricultural practices, pose significant risks to respiratory wellness, reproductive health, endocrine systems, neurodevelopment, and more. Our approach involves building an outcomes graph, working backwards from the desired high-level outcomes:
- Detecting a broader range of toxic chemicals at lower concentrations;
- Creating safer chemical substitutes, promoting transparency of research findings, and implementing market mechanisms to incentivize reduced emissions;
- Innovating and disseminating effective technologies for environmental remediation, such as bioremediation, phytoremediation, chemical remediation, physical remediation, advanced oxidation processes, and nanoremediation;
- Developing therapies that prevent, treat, or cure disease in toxin-exposed individuals.
Requirements
We are looking for candidates with a strong background in environmental science, chemistry, chemical engineering, biochemistry, pharmacology, or a related field. Ideal candidates will have:
- PhD or equivalent industry R&D know-how;
- In-depth knowledge of state-of-the-art technologies and constraints in toxicology, environmental monitoring, and/or remediation technologies;
- Industry-specific know-how, commercial knowledge, and network within environmental health, chemical manufacturing, or related industries;
- Experience in building and scaling new technologies from concept to demonstration;
- Experience in raising funds from early-stage investors/VC;
- Experience in building and scaling a high-growth enterprise (leadership/c-suite roles).
